Certificates and Training in Higher Education
Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW)
The ISW embodies three elements: competency-based instruction, experiential learning and the provision of growth-producing feedback. It is a peer-based, 3-day workshop, where participants learn from the experience of teaching, learning and reflecting on the underlying processes. Training completed at the Centre for Advancement of Teaching and Learning, University of Manitoba.
Certificate Higher Education Training (CHET)
The CHET program provides graduate students with a minimum of 20 hours of workshops, and a higher education teaching course (equivalent to 3 credit hours / term) and a teaching practicum. This certificate program helps prepare graduate students for higher education teaching and gives them a combination of teaching theory and practice.
